Alex & Matt - engagement session

Here are some of my favorites from Alex and Matt's engagement session. The others that I've posted are on my Facebook page - please go have a look-see there as well!
This couple is all that I want my bridal couples to be: beautiful people, kind, happy, in love and willing to go anywhere and do anything! This was a beautiful Fall day in many respects, up until the Gale Force Winds entered right in the middle of the session! That didn't stop us though, from using as much of Matt's family farm as we wished. And we did just that. There is only a small sampling here, limited only because of my posting limit on blogger (telling me that maybe it's time for a new blog... hmmm..).
Anyway, enjoy the love story these tell!

A quick cuddle break, all the while listening for bears... (I was, anyway :S)

I do love shoes, from all perspectives! And these boots are special because Matt is wearing them just for Alex (he's not really the cowboy boot type, from what he claims). Isn't that sweet?!

This one I love for their expression, the colors of the field, but most of all for the cows creeping up to take over the shot in the background! Who knew cows SO aren't shy?!

Lovely, HUMONGOUS, sunflowers!! Perfect... I love both of their expressions here, in the midst of their sunflower jungle

And the old truck that started it all. This was one of reasons we decided on using this location, one of the many gems we found to shoot around :) Isn't it great?

Thanks again, Alex and Matt. I just loved working with you and anticipate greatness for your wedding day!!

Donna & Tyler - engagement session

This engagement shoot took place just outside of Elk Point on a family farm.  It's always exciting to go on a road trip, but even more so when you arrive and the shot possibilities are endless! I took along a new photographer friend for company and assistance and we had a blast. I was up for the challenge of an entirely new location so I thought I might also challenge myself more by using only natural light ( I left my flash in my bag to make sure I didn't cheat!). I'm thrilled with the results! It's the style of photography that I love, so I 'go natural' as much as possible, but have never done an entire shoot.. very good to see the possibilities! I've posted some of this sessions favorites to my Facebook page and I would post more than 5 here if 'blogger' would allow it (must find a way around that one...) These two were up for anything, so there are many, many that I love.  The wedding day should be even better.  Thanks, Donna & Tyler for being open for new things and for being so at ease in front of my lens.  Looking forward to the wedding!!

It's been awhile..

I can't believe it's been almost a whole week since my last blog entry! I've been shooting and sorting through software issues during my work hours (and 'extra' hours). And birthdays and visits and normal everyday life that take up all of the rest. But I vow to be better at keeping everyone here (because I know that SOME people are watching) informed and to give you glimpses of some of my picks from each session.

For all of you who are waiting for proofs, we ask that you please be patient with us. We haven't forgotten you, honest!  The software that I'm working at implementing will make our work more efficient and hopefully quicker, but I need the time to get it all set up and working. We will get them posted as soon as possible and will be sending off emails to everyone affected this week.  Thank you!

Tonight I give you some of Patti & Kevin's engagement session. They get married in a couple of weeks, and I'm very excited to be shooting their wedding - it sounds like it will be wonderful, and they are easy to photograph, as you can see.

Brianne & Chad - engagement session

Brianne & Chad are one of my favorite couples to photograph. They are beautiful inside and out and so obviously in love. AND they are willing to try any pose and be playful for the camera (the definition of THIS photographer's dream clients!). This was their 'engagement' session which we had to shoot after the wedding because of scheduling conflicts. Once we're done with the wedding images, I'll be sure to post a few (or more) so stayed tuned. Thanks, Brianne and Chad for being so easy to photograph!
